I have been working in elementary and middle schools for almost three years. Prior to where I am at right now, I had worked at residential, clinic, and community-based settings for a little while and found that district work is very different from the rest. While working in schools, especially if you are barely starting in the field, it is imperative to understand school-based models and terms:

  • Dropout rates and truant behavior
  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
  • The Three Tier Model for preventionImage result for pbis model
